Biographie

Martin Golland détient une maîtrise en arts visuels de l’Université de Guelph, ON (2006) et un baccalauréat en arts visuels de l’Université Concordia (1998). L’artiste est né à Montpellier, France, et a vécu en Turquie, à Puerto Rico, à Miami et à Toronto avant de s’installer à Ottawa. Martin Golland a exposé au Canada et à l’international, avec des expositions telles que Imaging Disaster au Museum London, ON (2013), The Archivist’s Etagère chez Birch Libralato à Toronto (2012), Shapeshift à la galerie Birch Libralato à Toronto (2008), DARK TOWN à la galerie Felix Ringel à Düsseldorf (2007), What Is Said And What Is Meant au MacDonald Stewart Art Center de Guelph (2006) et Haven à la Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (2004). Il a remporté la mention honorable du 11e concours de peinture canadienne RBC qui fut par la suite exposé à plusieurs reprises comme au Musée des beaux art du Canada, à la Power Plant Gallery de Toronto, au Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal et à la Contemporary Art Gallery de Vancouver. Martin Golland est répresenté par galerie antoine ertaskiran (Montréal, QC) et Birch Contemporary (Toronto, ON).

Biography

Martin Golland received his MFA from the University of Guelph, ON (2006) and his BFA from Concordia University (1998). born in Montpellier, France, Golland lived in Turkey, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Toronto before moving to Ottawa. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including Imaging Disaster at Museum London, ON (2013), The Archivist’s Etagère at Birch Libralato in Toronto (2012), Shapeshift at Birch Libralato in Toronto (2008), DARK TOWN at the Felix Ringel Galerie in Düsseldorf (2007), What is Said and What is Meant at the MacDonald Stewart Art Center in Guelph (2006), and Haven at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (2004). Golland received the Honorable Mention prize at the 11th Annual RBC painting competition, which was exhibited in various museums and galleries across Canada, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Power Plant Gallery in Toronto, the Musée d'art contemporain in Montreal, and the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver. Martin Golland is represented by galerie antoine ertaskiran, (Montréal, QC) and Birch Contemporary, (Toronto, ON).
